Downloading a document still has old URL
Hi,
I had a question regarding my old URL. When I try to download a document into Media Mgr, the URL looks something like this /var/www/html/multisites/522autism/images/stories/pdf/independentschedule. As you can see, 522autism is still there. Is that supposed to be there, or should it be autismsupportonline.com? I had it set up to download a document, however I needed to edit it and resave as pdf and then upload again, but the URL which used to be 522autism.simplweb.com/images/stories/pdf/independentschedule.pdf is not the same.
I hope you can understand what I am trying to say.\
Regards,
Sandra

Hi Sandra,
The path with 522autism is correct. Your DNS is autismsupportonline.com but the site that it's pointing to is 522autism.simplweb.com. You could point mcdonalds.com to your simplweb site. So the file paths are correct. As for linking to a document, is the link broken or not functioning?
Thanks,
Dawn

Hi Dawn,
I don't know what happened to my document. As a test, I registered on my site for an ebook. I received the email with the download (via Mailchimp) and saw that there needed to be some corrections made. I corrected the errors in the ebook, saved as pdf and uploaded the new ebook into my site under media manager in pdf files (I deleted the old file to replace). I am not sure where to get the URL for this pdf, I don't remember where I saw the last one. This was the last one 522autism.simplweb.com/images/stories/pdf/independentschedule.pdf. I thought that it would be the same but it is not coming up when I put the address in.

Hi Sandra,
If you go to the media manager and find the file, click on the thumbnail which opens a little lightbox. Right click and say copy image location. Go to where you want the URL and right click to paste. Voila!
If it's in the Docman, then use the insert DocLink button at the bottom of the editor window and this should do it.
All the best,
Dawn
