How can I do a sign-up, so that whenever something new is added to our site, we send out an email alert?

   Hi Judy,

   Well there are three ways you could do that...

   One is you can simply provide an RSS feed or the relevant category. We are doing that on the simplweb blog. Downside is its limited to a single category or section, and the site visitor needs to use RSS.

   A little more automated is you could take that RSS feed and use a service like Feedblitz to turn it into an email sign up. I do that on my blog:

   Last way would be to have a basic email newsletter, which all sites should anyway. Use a service like iContact or MailChimp and get people to sign up with a simple form. Then send out emails/news as needed. Downside is that you have to take the effort to create the emails, but on the other hand, you have a lot of control.
