Correct cname address
One of my websites, nycico.sierraclub.org, had a cname address that pointed to www.simplwebsites.com. When you moved the site to your new hosting address that no longer worked. The Sierra club tried changing the cname to 187nycico.simplweb.com, but that didn't work and is now simply transferring visirtors to 187nycicosimplweb.com, which is obviously unsatisfactory. Can you provide me with a correct CNAME referral?
Thanks
, Gary

Hi Gary,
You wouldn't use a CNAME at all. We have a FAQ for this http://support.simplweb.com/help/kb/setting-up-your-website/how-do-...

Thanks for the material and I think it will work for my domain, gwntec.com.
However, nyc.sierraclub.org, is a subdomain of the Sierra Club's main
domain, www.sierraclub.org. Previously, your instructions were to create a
CNAME entry, which they had done. This does not work with your current
configuration. So, they are just forwarding the domain, and they may be
unwilling to create an A record for our sub-domain.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Gary

Hi Gary
I am very sorry but that is the only way to do it. They would need to remove the CNAME and create an A record to our IP address for your subdomain.
The rest is on our side.
