I want to make it possible for users to create articles on their own once they are logged in. I have given Publisher rights to the new users but no option to create a new article appears under their user menu. How do I enable this for them?

    Hi Teresa,

A publisher can create articles from the front end only, not from the backend. The publisher would need to login on the front end and once they are logged in they should be able to create new articles from a button that appears within the actual website. This protects you from have any accidental menu changes, etc as a result of backend logins.

Exactly what should happen but is not. I sign in as one of my users who is set as a publisher. All that is available once I log in is to edit existing pages. No create page link appears under their user menu. Thoughts? Is the link somewhere else? I saw on a tutorial that the create article link should show up under the user menu.

Did you set the new user parameter in global configuration to author at least? You probably did. Your users can edit current articles but for them to create new articles you need to create an article submission type menu item? The link will show up in whatever module you place it in. Once the user clicks on the new link the user text editor will appear on a new page.

    Hi Teresa

You actually have to create the link to the "submit article" page in the
backend and set it to registered only.

Ok....this makes sense. I know how to create a link to the User menu and I see how to make so only registered users will get the option. What I cannot find is the 'submit article' page. I think I looked just about everywhere. Where would it live?

When you create a new menu item (link) in the menu you want it to be in, go
    to

    articles > article submission layout
