Front End Module Editing

I have a simple text module that some users would like the ability to update on the front end like they do with articles. Is there a way to do this or a module that is a part of Simplweb that makes this possible? I found an indirect way to do it via a Joomla forum which I posted below but was hoping for something more straight forward.

Via Joomla forum:
In the Category Manager, make a Category specifically for one module, for example, Committee Members. Then create an article listing the committee members and selecting the just set up Category. Next go to the Module Manager and create a new module from mod_newsflash, select the Category you just made and it will pull in the article. (It will pull in all articles using that category, but you'll only have that one.) Use a separate Category and mod_newsflash for each module to be updated from the front end.

Finally, in the User Menu create a new Menu Item > Article Layout and link it to the same article. Now a logged in user can edit the article.

Hmmmm, although cumbersome, I think that might be the best way to do it.
